Client Centred Therapy
Focuses on the client as much as possible with little help or authority from the therapist. The Therapist may offer gentle guidance to help encourage and empower the client to take control over their present life, mental illness, or future.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Also referred to as CBT treats unhelpful thinking that can lead to maladaptive behaviours, mental illness, or negative emotions. CBT focuses on thoughts and behaviours.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
Focuses on a problem solving and acceptance base framework.
Solution Focused Therapy
Is aimed as a short term goal focused approach. Challenges clients to change by building solutions rather than focusing on problems.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Helps clients develop mindfulness skills and techniques to integrate into their daily lives; with the goal of being consistent and psychologically flexible.
Existential/Humanistic Therapy
Helps guild individuals to find their meaning and purpose in their lives. The goal is to help end the fear of the unknown and to encourage clients to use their full capacity to develop their lives in such a way to maximize the best version of themselves.
